Workshops and Talks
I love speaking to children and adults and getting them excited about reading, writing and learning, no matter the subject. I offer a range of talks and workshops, from author visits at schools to writing workshops for young people and authors. Author visits
Author visits are my favourite part of being a children’s author, and I work hard to make sure each visit is full of amazing facts, inspiring stories, fun activities, and behind-the-scenes insights into what life as a children’s author is really like. It’s about creating a fun space to encourage curiosity and imagination.
I offer virtual and in-person author visits for primary-school children from Year 3 upwards (7-8 years old) all children of primary-school age, from Reception to Year 6, as well as secondary-school children in Years 7 and 8 (up to 13 years old).
Virtual Author visits
If you’re looking for a virtual author visit, I have three packages that you can book. Each package includes downloadable resources to maximise the visit’s impact for children, and to make hosting the event as simple (and fun!) as possible. Sessions are available for parents and carers too.

- 30-minute Meet the Author Q&A – £50
- 1-hour virtual author visit (intro, reading, activities + Q&A session) – £100
- Half-day virtual author visit (3 x 1-hour sessions over a morning or afternoon) – £250
In-person author visits
In-person author visits are a wonderful opportunity to engage children and make their book feel really special! Each visit package also includes downloadable resources to maximise the visit’s impact for children, and to make hosting the event as simple (and fun!) as possible.
I offer a full-day visit as standard, with half-day visits available in my local area (around Belper, UK). A book-signing session is included for all in-person visits and you can either buy books directly from me or arrange to involve a local bookshop.
- Full-day in-person author visit – £400 + Travel Expenses
- Half-day in-person author visit – £250 (for the Belper area only)

Talks and Workshops
In addition to author visits, I also offer author talks and workshops for young people and adults. These workshops focus on creative non-fiction for children. Depending on the topic of the workshop, I always aim to offer practical tips, lead short (but not scary!) thinking and writing exercises focused on writing in a kid-friendly way (including e.g. age-appropriate language and interactivity) and finding fun creative twists to help engage kids in learning about the world.
